What We Do
Since 2001, Hammersmith Ventures has been providing strategic guidance and investment capital to early stage businesses with compelling intellectual property. Our seed capital investment can be exclusive or as part of a consortium of angel investors.
Our investments are IP-centric. We focus on the quality and the quantity of the copyrights, trademarks and US patents owned by the investment candidate and the quantifiable size of the target market(s) covered by the IP.
We look to see if market forces are "pulling" the innovation to market, versus the conventional approach of "pushing" innovations into a crowded and disinterested marketplace.
We seek to support our companies in becoming practicing entities of their IP so as to best position the companies for potential acquisition and/or to assert their IP rights.
Because of our firm’s structure and philosophy, we are able to make rapid decisions at every part of the process – evaluation of the IP, negotiation and closing of a deal, launching or relaunching the company with a new business model and the negotiation of licensing deals and partnerships.
